Our Story

Ken Hallmeyer was trained in survey work by the US Army Engineers in the late 1940s. He later worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and as a party chief for a Central California engineering firm.

His crews needed stakes, so he began working evenings in his garage to prepare what was needed for the next day’s work. The business grew, and Ken wanted to continue surveying, so he brought his son Joe into the stake business, to focus on making stakes.

In 1981, Joe acquired the business, continuing to grow across California and into Nevada and Arizona. Joe’s son Daniel joined the business in 2003 and took over in 2019.
